Customer came to Floit & Co. with a unique idea for a basement project. Coming from a big hockey family they were hoping to reinvent their entire space and design a hockey themed play space for their two children. Along with this design they were looking for assistance with water damage in their ceiling and floors.
Floit & Co. came in with a consultative design approach on this project as the basement was essentially a clean slate. The project entailed wrapping the overhead duct work and fixing the water damage. We replaced a large section of drywall and refinished the ceiling space with mud, primer, sanding and paint. We also sectioned off the basement by building a custom 4-foot-high wall to separate the space for both hockey for the kids and a tv space for the parents. The custom wall also included a hockey style door on a hinge to simulate real boards. A custom paint job on the boards and the floor, to include a red a blue line.
The space will be the highlight of the neighborhood for years to come among friends and hockey enthusiasts. Customer is ecstatic to have a new, clean and safe space for the family to enjoy.
